This is a fantastic medal! Produced by the American Medallic Art Company it commemorates the Hearst Corporation's centenary. The obverse has multi images including a printing press, various books & periodicals, a man at a computer, a satellite, a radio, a radio tower, a TV camera, a man in a bookshop and a large building with the words "The Hearst Corporation" round the bottom edge. The reverse has the words "The Hearst Corporation" and "100 years of making Communications History" around the edge and "1987 1887 in the middle with wing like images in between. The rim is stamped "1987 Medallic Art Co. - Danbury . CT. Bronze".
